Governo Federal anuncia que desconto para carros populares é por tempo limitado no IPI e PIS/Cofins de automóveis que hoje custam até R$ 120 mil
O vice-presidente da República e ministro do Desenvolvimento, Indústria, Comércio e Serviços, Geraldo Alckmin, anunciou nesta quinta-feira, 25, medidas tributárias que o governo irá implementar para tentar baratear o preço do carro no Brasil.
Após reunião com o presidente da República, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, o ministro da Fazenda, Fernando Haddad, e a representantes da indústria, Alckmin afirmou que a União irá promover um desconto por tempo limitado.
Os cortes serão no Imposto sobre Produtos Industrializados (IPI) e em Programa de Integração Social/Contribuição para Financiamento da Seguridade Social (PIS/Cofins) de automóveis que hoje custam até R$ 120 mil.
De acordo com o ministro, essa redução vai possibilitar um desconto no valor dos carros que irá variar de 1,5% até 10,79%.
Alckmin não detalhou como se dará essa conversão, mas disse que o tamanho do benefício será definido com base em três pilares: social, baseado no parâmetro de que apenas carros de até R$ 120 mil contarão com o desconto; de eficiência energética, considerando carros com menos emissão de CO2; e, terceiro, de densidade industrial, privilegiando as companhias com mais componentes fabricados no País.
O ministro ponderou, contudo, que a Fazenda pediu 15 dias para estabelecer como se darão esses descontos.
O impacto fiscal ainda não foi calculado porque a duração da medida de incentivo ainda está em aberto. “Temos responsabilidade fiscal”, disse Alckmin.
Com o parecer da Fazenda, será possível avaliar se o governo “efetivamente” pode editar uma Medida Provisória sobre o tema, afirmou.
