Homem que ateou fogo e queimou 80% do corpo da ex-companheira é condenado a 29 anos de prisão
Jorge Luís Santos de Carvalho, o homem que ateou fogo e queimou 80% do corpo da ex-companheira, foi condenado a 29 anos de prisão nesta quinta-feira (14) pelos crimes de feminicídio e perseguição. Ele ateou fogo ao corpo da vítima no Dia dos Namorados, 12 de junho deste ano, na Avenida Sargento Hermínio, em Fortaleza.
A vítima, Talita Lopes Falcão, de 34 anos, foi socorrida, mas morreu 21 dias depois do crime no Hospital Instituto Doutor José Frota (IJF), onde estava internada em estado grave.
O julgamento de Jorge Luís Santos ocorreu na 3ª Vara do Júri de Fortaleza, cerca de seis meses após o crime. A sessão teve início na manhã desta quinta-feira e foi concluída ao fim da tarde após 8 horas de trabalho. Ele foi condenado pelo júri popular a 28 anos por feminicídio qualificado e 1 ano pelo crime de perseguição.
Jorge já estava preso preventivamente e deve cumprir a pena em regime fechado, conforme decisão judicial. Na sentença, também foi negado o direito do réu recorrer em liberdade.
Conforme o Tribunal de Justiça do Ceará (TJ-CE), o caso está inserido no programa “Tempo de Justiça Mulher”, que tem o objetivo de acelerar a investigação e julgamento de casos que envolvem crimes dolosos contra a vida de mulheres, tipificados como feminicídio.
