Justiça decreta prisão preventiva do prefeito de Alcântaras por descumprir medidas protetivas e ameaçar irmã
O Juizado da Violência Doméstica e Familiar Contra a Mulher da Comarca de Sobral acolheu o pedido do Ministério Público do Estado do Ceará (MPCE) e decretou, na última terça-feira (12/12), a prisão preventiva do prefeito do município de Alcântaras, Joaquim Freire de Carvalho, por descumprimento de medida protetiva prevista na Lei Maria da Penha. A irmã do gestor municipal conseguiu restringir o contato com o gestor após relatar às autoridades de defesa da mulher constantes ameaças que teriam sido feitas pelo irmão. No entanto, de acordo com a representação do MP, o prefeito continuou, de forma direta e indireta, ameaçando a integridade da vítima.
Uma das situações em que o gestor de Alcântaras descumpriu a medida foi registrada em vídeo utilizado pelo MP Estadual como evidência. Nas imagens, é possível ver o acusado diminuindo a velocidade do veículo e se aproximando da vítima. Outra ocorrência foi relatada pela irmã do acusado, quando no dia 6 de dezembro de 2023, ela e sua filha foram abordadas pelo marido da secretária de Educação do município, que disparou as seguintes ameaças: “Se for mexer com Joaquim, vai aparecer coisa… se for mexer com Joaquim, vai ser pior para vocês”.
Com base nas evidências apresentadas, a Justiça determinou a prisão preventiva do gestor. “Não há outra medida jurídica cabível a não ser o encarceramento provisório do representado, já que este, mesmo depois de intimado, descumpriu as medidas protetivas que lhe foram impostas”, diz a decisão. O prefeito está foragido.
