Ministério Público investiga fraude de R$ 8 milhões na compra de combustível em Juazeiro do Norte
Uma operação do Ministério Público do Estado do Ceará (MPCE) cumpriu, nesta terça-feira (27), sete mandados de busca e apreensão que investiga peculato, fraude licitatória, falsidade ideológica e associação criminosa na gestão do sistema de abastecimento de mais de 300 veículos da Prefeitura de Juazeiro do Norte, a 541 km de Fortaleza. Os contratos estão orçados em mais de R$ 8 milhões.
Os mandados da operação “Aditivo” aconteceram contra a empresa contratada, sediada na Bahia. São alvos empresários, servidores públicos da Prefeitura de Juazeiro do Norte e um parlamentar da Câmara Municipal de Juazeiro do Norte. Além do município do Cariri cearense, a operação também foi realizada em Feira de Santana, na Bahia.
A investigação do Ministério Público apura contratos celebrados pela Prefeitura Municipal de Juazeiro do Norte, em 2022, por meio de 21 secretarias, com a empresa investigada, que ficou encarregada de fazer a gestão informatizada da compra de combustíveis para 306 veículos da frota municipal.
A Prefeitura de Juazeiro do Norte informou que ainda não foi notificado pelo Ministério Público e deve analisar o caso somente após a notificação formal.
Segundo o MPCE, os promotores de Justiça investigam ainda indícios de que, ao invés de gerar eficiência e economia aos cofres públicos, a execução dos contratos estaria sendo objeto de superfaturamento, através de informações supostamente falsas prestadas pela empresa e atestadas por agentes públicos sobre os preços dos combustíveis, muito superiores aos praticados pelo mercado.
Dos 8,7 milhões de reais estimados contratualmente, a prefeitura já pagou mais de 2 milhões para a empresa investigada.
São apurados, ainda, indícios de que o credenciamento realizado nos contratos estaria beneficiando postos de combustíveis de parlamentar da Câmara Municipal de Juazeiro do Note e sua família, em um suposto esquema de desvio de recursos públicos para o grupo.
A operação contou com apoio do Grupo Especial de Combate à Corrupção (GECOC) e da 15ª Promotoria de Justiça de Juazeiro do Norte e do Departamento Técnico Operacional da Polícia Civil do Ceará e do Grupo de Atuação Especial de Combate ao Crime Organizado (GAECO) do Estado da Bahia.
