Cantora enfrentava um câncer
Rita Lee, uma das maiores cantoras e compositoras da história da música brasileira, morreu nesta segunda-feira (8), aos 75 anos. Ela foi diagnosticada com câncer de pulmão em 2021 e vinha fazendo tratamentos contra a doença.
A família da cantora divulgou um comunicado nas redes sociais dela: “Comunicamos o falecimento de Rita Lee, em sua residência, em São Paulo, capital, no final da noite de ontem, cercada de todo o amor de sua família, como sempre desejou”. O velório será aberto ao público, no Planetário do Parque Ibirapuera, na quarta-feira (10), das 10h às 17h.
Rita ajudou a incorporar a revolução do rock à explosão criativa do tropicalismo, formou a banda brasileira de rock mais cultuada no mundo, os Mutantes, e criou canções na carreira solo com enorme apelo popular sem perder a liberdade e a irreverência.
Sempre moderna, Rita foi referência de criatividade e independência feminina durante os quase 60 anos de carreira. O título de “rainha do rock brasileiro” veio quase naturalmente, mas ela achava “cafona” – preferia “padroeira da liberdade”.
