Prefeito de Acopiara é afastado em operação que investiga fraudes
Uma operação da Polícia Civil do Ceará e Ministério Público do Estado do Ceará (MPCE) cumpre, na manhã desta quarta-feira (21), mandados de busca e apreensão em Acopiara, a 352 km de Fortaleza em uma apuração de contratos fraudulentos.
As investigações são contra o prefeito da cidade, Antônio Almeida Neto (MDB), afastado do cargo por 180 dias, e contra sua chefe de gabinete, Antônia Verbeane de Almeida. A determinação do afastamento é do Tribunal de Justiça do Ceará (TJCE). A operação também investiga pelo menos oito secretários.
As investigações tiveram início a partir de representações de vereadores da cidade a respeito de irregularidades e supostas práticas de crimes na Prefeitura de Acopiara.
A operação investiga supostas contratações irregularidades de servidores por meio de cooperativas e empresas que atuam em Acopiara. Além do afastamento do gestor municipal, a Justiça determinou que a prefeitura se abstenha de contratar profissionais por meio dessas empresas investigadas.
O presidente da Câmara Municipal de Acopiara deu posse à vice-prefeita, Ana Patrícia Barbosa.
